If you wish to take a driving safety course, you must apply in person or in writing to the Court by your appearance date. If you request the driving safety course by letter, the letter must reach the Court office on or before your Court appearance date.
A signed plea of no contest or guilty must be included with your request.
The following items are also needed:
- Proof of insurance on the vehicle driven (copy if completing by mail)
- Valid Texas Drivers License (copy if completing by mail)
- $90.00 (Cash, check or money order payable to Belton Municipal Court)
- Copy of your driving record. You can download the request form or obtain one from the Court.
The application for the driving record and a $10.00 check or money order (made payable to the Texas Department of Public Safety) must be mailed to:

You must then attend a Texas Certified Driving Safety Course (additional cost). The course must be taken within 60 days of your request. A copy of the certificate of completion must be provided to the Court within 90 days of your request.
Please note: You are not eligible to take the course if you have taken one within the last 12 months.
